Understanding IPT: Impact, Performance & Trajectory

The three pillars — Impact, Performance, and Trajectory — are derived directly from the Big Five Personality Model (OCEAN), which is one of the most scientifically validated frameworks in psychology.

Rather than presenting all five dimensions separately (which can be overwhelming or abstract for users), Talent Avatar condenses and reinterprets them into three practical pillars that reflect real-world professional behaviour and development themes.

Each pillar represents a cluster of Big Five traits and their application to daily career success and coaching insights.

⚡ Pillar 1: IMPACT

Origin: Primarily drawn from Extraversion and Agreeableness in the Big Five.

Represents: How an individual influences, connects with, and supports others.

What it measures:

  • Social energy and confidence in interpersonal settings (e.g., “I bring energy and attention to the room”)
  • Empathy, care, and sensitivity toward others’ emotions
  • Collaboration style and ability to inspire or comfort people

In Talent Avatar:

  • The Impact pillar drives insights around communication, leadership presence, empathy, and teamwork
  • It helps the AI coach understand how the user interacts socially — whether they energize, support, or withdraw from others — and tailor day-to-day guidance accordingly (e.g., “Try initiating one open conversation today” or “Focus on listening cues in your next meeting”)
**Question items in the questionnaire:** 1–20

🔹 Pillar 2: PERFORMANCE

Origin: Based on Conscientiousness and Emotional Stability (the inverse of Neuroticism).

Represents: How effectively someone manages their work habits, resilience, and consistency under pressure.

What it measures:

  • Organization, focus, and dependability (e.g., “I like to stay organized and ready for what’s ahead”)
  • Self-discipline, attention to detail, and goal-driven behaviour
  • Ability to stay calm and balanced during stress or setbacks

In Talent Avatar:

  • The Performance pillar drives coaching prompts related to discipline, resilience, time management, and emotional regulation
  • It underpins the user’s day-to-day effectiveness and is a major factor in productivity, stress management, and mental well-being
**Question items:** 21–40

🌠 Pillar 3: TRAJECTORY

Origin: Derived from Openness to Experience.

Represents: Curiosity, creativity, and capacity for intellectual and personal growth.

What it measures:

  • Imagination, abstract thinking, and innovation (e.g., “I have a strong and vivid imagination”)
  • Learning orientation and adaptability to new ideas
  • Willingness to explore new perspectives and think long-term

In Talent Avatar:

  • The Trajectory pillar powers AI insights around career growth, creativity, and lifelong learning
  • It influences how users engage with forward-looking or developmental content (e.g., “Consider exploring a new skill area this month” or “Reflect on how you approached creative problem-solving this week”)
**Question items:** 41–50
